That Piece

Calling a name I don’t know

To do some things I’ve never seen

Going to go places I’ve never been

Just to see your face

Be present in your space

That piece of serenity

Calling this peace into existence

Not even sure what I am missing

Persevering through every obstacle

The world is simple and cruel

Masked by this innocence

That piece of persistence

Calling and screaming to be heard

Fantasy controlling reality

Nothing decent within me

Aggressively deceitfully being me

Subtly orchestrating inevitably

That piece of hypocrisy

Calling for assistance

Realizing I cannot handle this

Monumentally too much for me

Devastated no one responded to me

The realization of independence

That piece of creative license
